IKEA Abu Dhabi

Celebrating NYE can be an overwhelming task where various offers are over the Emirate Capital. Just like 2016’s NYE, we went to the Coldplay concert for FREE (don’t ask the details it’s confidential). Du Arena is where major concerts are held located at the heart of Yas Island. This year we went to watch Katy Perry. Before that, we had to make sure our stomach is full. IKEA has an affordable food selection after buying household-items-which-I-don’t-really-need-at all.

At the right time of craving for cheesecake, they have an offer for 19 AED for two cheesecakes, Bake Caramel and Cookies & Cream Cheesecake. I will always pick the offer the day since I will be paying less using the IKEA Family Card. The card is free, sign up at any kiosk of the store.

In a place of unlimited soft drinks reminds me of S&R (I don’t have an S&R card and I believe it’s a waste of money). Currently in the Philippines, they removed it due to the Tax Reform.  I don’t know about you, but what I love here in UAE is everyone is welcome to enter any establishment (even if you are a laborer). Back in the Philippines, exclusivity is where everyone wanted to be even if they don’t have the means to.

That reminds me of an Aunt who lives in Canada when she said everyone is equal. Everyone can afford to buy Starbucks (you may laugh about it) and no one is poor or rich because the Government made sure not to leave refugees and immigrants behind.

I love UAE, the land of opportunity and God’s moving hand. Thank you God for blessing this place!
