Unfortunately, I lack remaining days in UAE to carry on my Japan visa application. This circumstance left me with no choice but to apply in the Philippines. To avoid fraudulence only transact your documents to the
accredited agencies. Again, different documents are required for every country. What I’m able to provide in UAE isn’t needed in the Philippines and conversely.
Why I choose
Universal Holidays is I saw an offer in their website of 40% discount via online application and grabbed it for ₱950.
Every application varies accordingly to
visa type (what I will give you is the basic requirements):
- Philippine passport
- Visa Application Form
- Photo (4.5 cm x 4.5 cm with white background)
- Birth Certificate
- Marriage Certificate*
- Travel Itinerary
- Bank Certificate (latest three months)*
- Applicant’s Income Tax (Form 2316)*
- Guarantee Letter*
I had a lot of setbacks during the process. In the marriage certificate, Embassy of Japan
requires if marriage is done outside the Philippines you have to file for a “Certificate of No-Record” from Philippine Statistics Authority. Philippine Embassy overseas take time to update your record in the Philippines. We got married two months prior from the application, this process of updating is usually six months. Good thing there is an express and convenient application in
PSAHelpline for ₱350.
Since I am a home maker living outside our country, I am dependent to my husband (which is true!). I didn’t provide them the tax exemption from BIR instead I wrote a Letter of Explanation. Letter of Explanation isn’t particular for those like me, this can be utilized for people who just “had” their jobs. Be honest with your writing and thank them in advance for approving the visa. Along with the letter, I inserted supporting documents of my husband (passport, visa, bank statement, air tickets) and a duly filed Guarantee Letter to make sure he will support me throughout the trip.
Short story: the agency returned the application and have it reapply with some minor changes. They have been strict with me since I am very lenient with the application. Very unlikely from UAE visa processing. I decided to gave them a new photo (and God how I forgot to wear a collared shirt), I have to hastily buy a new one. It happened a week before our wedding, which is also the day before our prenuptial shoot. It was exhausting and breath catching just to cope with the office hours. I sent the mail on a Thursday night from Tagbilaran, received in Manila by Saturday morning. By Tuesday morning, I got a SMS from their office in Cebu that my visa is granted. That’s two working days guys!!! Their staff in Cebu really considered my situation and helped me with my concerns, thank you very much Ms. Stephanie.
Next post will be our Japan honeymoon!
